Question about Mekhi's 3rd period takedown.

Late in the 3rd period, Joseph got Mekhi's leg was was raising it. Then, it looked like Joseph just collapsed to the mat, and Mekhi covered him for the takedown. What happened to cause Joseph to go down? Was it a Joseph mistake? Did Joseph try some maneuver that failed? Did Joseph run out of gas? Did Mekhi do something to cause the Joseph collapse? I watched that several times, and I just can not figure out why Joseph went down. Do any experts have an answer?
